In a Spring/Summer collection that was entirely black, white and silver, Demeulemeester focused her attention on construction and detail, elongating the silhouette and adding a rough and tough edge via punk rock accessories.

For Spring/Summer 2002, Demeulemeester played with contrasts which she captured in her poetically hard-edged designs. Using ribbons to shape new volumes and developing new fabric techniques, her collection was a rich blend of tough femininity.
