You're going to need that little bitch's adept pair of hands to pull off 2008's hottest hair trend: the milkmaid braid.

So yeah, celebs are down with putting up their braids. And the industry is behind it, too. Christy Turlington rocked the braids in her latest shoot for Chanel.

Now here's the troubling part. The woman that started this trend was Yulia Tymoshenko.

I know, her name sounds like that of a model. And of course she looks like one on the cover of this Slavic version of Elle. But she's actually the Ukrainian prime minister. She's an attractive, take-no-prisoners populist, who just happened to start sporting an outdated do. And more power to her. She's owning it!

My fear: someone else's throw-back bouffant might also start to catch fire. And if so, may God help us all.
